Core Construction

The effectiveness of a wringer roll begins with its core, which must withstand high nip pressures while maintaining concentricity and balance.

  • Core Materials: Steel, stainless steel, or aluminum in solid or tubing construction.
  • Precision Machining: Journals and bearing seats produced or restored to print for accurate fit and load-bearing capability.
  • Inspection & Testing: UT and Wet MAG inspection available for shafts and weldments, with reports provided.
  • Journal & Shaft Services: Shaft replacement, weld repair, and press-fit operations extend core service life.
  • Dynamic Balancing: Rolls balanced after machining and recovering to ensure smooth operation at line speeds.
  • Complete Assemblies: Supplied fully assembled with shafts, bearings, couplings, and covers for direct installation.

Urethane Covering

The urethane covering is specifically designed for nip-pressure applications, providing durability, elasticity, and fluid resistance.

  • Durometer Range: Custom polyurethane hardness, typically 85–95 Shore A, selected for controlled compression and long wear life.
  • Surface Finish: Smooth ground finishes for even pressure distribution and non-marking contact.
  • Grooved Options: Helix, herringbone, or spiral grooves available to improve fluid displacement and enhance drainage.
  • Performance Properties: High tear strength, superior abrasion resistance, and resistance to oils, coolants, and cleaners.
  • Bonding & Cure: Covers applied with grit-blasted cores, primer adhesives, and heat curing for secure adhesion under repeated nip cycles.
