Core Construction
A stable, precisely machined core is essential to uniform coating transfer and defect control.
- Core Materials: Precision steel cores with coverings selected for wear and corrosion resistance in coating environments.
- Pressure Capacity: Engineered to withstand high roll-to-roll pressures up to 40 tons.
- Manufacture to Print: New cores produced to specified diameter, length, and mounting configurations for station fit and repeatability.
- Complete Assemblies: Coater rolls can be supplied ready to install with the specified cover and finish.
Urethane Covering
The covering interfaces directly with the wet film and substrate and is tuned for consistent transfer and surface integrity.
- Durometer Range: Custom polyurethane hardness, typically 90–95 Shore A for shape retention, stability, and long service life.
- Surface Finish: Ground textures specified at Ra 0.4–0.8 µm, or mirror-smooth chrome finishes at Ra 0.05–0.2 µm to minimize imprinting and promote defect-free wet film.
- Grooved Options: Optional diamond groove patterns to aid grip and fluid management on oily or fluid-heavy substrates.
- Performance Properties: High wear resistance with coverings selected to resist corrosion and maintain coating quality under continuous operation.
- Bonding & Cure: Covers applied using advanced bonding and curing techniques for durable adhesion and reliable service.
