Pinch Rolls

Pinch Rolls

Used in the steel industry to direct the travel of a strip mill product and provide strip tension for a downstream process. There are different types of pinch rollers used in steel rolling mills, including vertical pinch rollers, tail breakers, and high-speed pinch rollers.

Typical Hardness: (70-90 Durometer, Shore A)

Benefits of using Urethane on a Pinch Roll

  • High Purity and homogeneity
  • Suitable for use in solvent environments
  • Better Stability in contact with solvents compared to other polyurethane covers
  • Good resistance to abrasion and tear
  • Easy Grind and groove
  • Specifically designed for applicator rollers for color coating, varnishing , lacquering, glue application, and chemical coating
  • No marring of products
  • Superb abrasion, chemical, and water resistance
  • Ability to handle more pounds per square inch than other materials without breaking
  • Noise abatement
  • Solvent Resistance
  • Enhanced performance and longevity
  • Less brittle and harder than many elastomeric materials, including silicone
